WASTE TO WEALTH IN AGRICULTURE

                                      In animal husbandry, it has been agreed with proof that feeding alone takes over 60% of the total production costs. With continual rise in prices of conventional feed ingredients it has become imperative to device other cheaper but effective means to make feeds for livestock. One of these is the inclusion of industrial wastes in animal feed production. Although a number of factors affect the use of some of these materials, but with appropriate steps, they can be used with little or no side effects. Some of these wastes include: Rice and Corn bran Palm oil sludge Shea butter cake Brewery wastes Rice bran and corn bran can replace maize in animal diet and they cost less than 15% of the cost of maize, same thing with shea butter cake. Limiting factors in their uses include: High fibre contents High microbial load.                                                             WAY OUT We take the high fibre, high microbes conta
